Carlos Cardona is an award-winning Colombian American director, writer, and cinematographer from Southampton, New York. He has worked in narrative and documentary for over a decade, directing feature films and episodic pilots while also shooting acclaimed documentaries and short films.

As a cinematographer, his work has appeared on platforms including HBO Max and Paramount+. His documentary work has received nominations for the News & Documentary Emmy Awards, and he has won Webby Awards for his online content work. His most recent work, the hybrid documentary Mercurial New York, is currently being exhibited at the Venice Biennale.

As a director, Carlos is particularly drawn to stories that explore identity, race, and class and how they intersect with American culture. His episodic pilot Chiqui had its world premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, where it was cited by multiple sources as a highlight of the Indie Episodic Program. His follow-up pilot Born 2 Lose, inspired by his experiences growing up as a punk rock teenager in the Hamptons, won Best Episodic at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival and screened at the Hamptons International Film Festival.
